Flight, Run, & Hatching Rules
1. See information on dragon colors, whers, dragons, and firelizards on what colors can catch what, how many eggs different females can clutch, and basic knowledge about how flights, runs, and hatchings work. 2. Contact staff to have a female dragon, wher, or firelizard added to the upcoming flight list. Especially with clutching females, to control egg population, your request may be asked to be moved to a later time if we have too many females currently flying or running at one time. 3. The roleplayer of the flying or running female decides which male wins. Either a male can choose to make an attempt to straight out catch the female and the roleplayer can choose to let the male succeed or they can have the female announce it once she reaches the end of the flight. 4. If the female is going to clutch after the flight, contact the staff. Generally, the staff will actually tell you if the female will clutch. The number of eggs and the colors of the dragonets must be discussed and determined between them and the roleplayer of the female. 5. Though the roleplayer of the female has much of the end control of the eggs, the names of the dragonets (as long as appropriate), and who the dragonets Impress after the number of eggs and color ratios and certain features have been approved by staff, it is encouraged that they might delegate some eggs to trusted members, especially if they have candidates themselves. Specific staff, or members, might be suggested who have experience with hatchings. Staff, also, will need to loosely regulate over the hatching. 6. The mauling of candidates is allowed and may occur. Please do not complain if your candidate is injured; they put themselves at risk for the chance of Impressing a dragon. Also, do not complain about not receiving a Queen, a King, or any specific color you wanted. It will not receive a kind reaction. 7. It should be noted that many female fighter flights and runs take place off-camera in the game. While it is encouraged for members to have their female fighters fly or run a couple of times each OOC year, only a third of their flights are likely played. Flights are a normal part of weyrlife. Please take this into consideration. All other females will have all their flights roleplayed, unless there are special circumstances. 8. Substitution may occur in a flight, so long as there is someone present the rider may be able to prefer greatly over the winning male's rider. Barring the riders of the males from the weyr cannot occur unless another individual is already present for the female's rider. This applies to all previous and future flights.
