Board Suggestion

It was an idea that a few people had at another Weyr I'm at, and I think that it could help when people are in a search for a specific player's character.

Why not make a board dedicated to Character Thread links? Each person sets up their own thread, and can place the link to each character's thread in it. It could also be used for various things, such as pictures that they may have for their character that they think may clutter their thread.

I think that it would really help. It would eliminate a need for a lot of sub-boards, especially when it comes to the dragonrider board. The Weyr is pretty big, and you have a lot of riders that people may be curious about, but too lazy to search for. :]

I think that sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it should replace the character boards that we have. It's more convenient if all the similar characters are lumped together. Like, if Bre is deciding who will Impress what dragon at a Hatching, she's going to prefer having one Candidate board than having to hunt down everyone's in their own threads.

Perhaps we could have both?

Whoops, I should have made that clear. The idea is to keep the original boards, but to have an add-on so that everyone makes one new Thread for all of their characters; it would include the links to the original thread as well.

This way, people can search for characters through this board. Or something...

I'm starting to wonder if I make sense... Haha.

xD I get what you're saying. Add a board to the same area as the Character Boards that's for like..Character Journals of such. :3

Each person makes a thread for each of their characters, and updates it regularly with what they're character's up to.

For example, if I had one for B'rak, I would put links to the threads that he's in, current and past, so people could read up on whatever he's up to.
If I'm gettin' what you're saying, I could also had pictures I have of B'rak, a link to his profile, some information about him and his dragon that isn't on his profile if I wanted to, or even his opinions on what's going on around him.

That would give other people insight into his thoughts on different matters, and I and everyone else could tell where he is where he's been, and what Shoth's gotten him into.

One thread for all of their characters would be for the best. Each post would be dedicated to one specific character.

I love the idea - I've seen it one other sites, and I like reading what other character's think of mine although the character's might not know it... I vote yes. ^-^

God, I hate these boards. They're a staff nightmare to regulate with people being muffin heads about them and getting in fights over stupid things with them and etc. And, yes, I really do think some of you might end up doing something stupid with them. Dealing with you lot is like watching fourteen preschoolers at church. (Some of you are actually a negative amount of preschoolers, but some of you are worth more than one.) However, it has been created.
