Do you have a character you think would be a great wingleader, wingsecond, weyrlingmaster, or candidatemaster? Reply to this thread to apply for future openings!
Please state your character's name, dragon/wher, and desired rank as well as current wing/pride assignment. Please provide a link to their profile and a brief description of why they are suitable for this position.
Color is not a constraint. Purple or larger is most likely for wingleader and cyan or larger is most likely for wingsecond, but Dalibor is not opposed to making a bluerider a wingleader or a greenrider a wingsecond for the children (or more likely, the plots). Age is a constraint. We greatly prefer they all be old as dirt.
Please remember that individuals selected for these positions should be familiar with these expectations. Applying does not guarantee that you will receive a position as soon as it becomes available, or ever; it depends upon the suitability of the character and the nature of the opening. We do very much enjoy spreading the love around in terms of rank!
Listed below are the open requests for positions:
WINGLEADER: none
WINGSECOND: W'lin of iron Chyurath C'at of brown Deretsoth (Boo) C'ian of purple Shirath (Boo) Z'eri of purple Arifoth (Serah) Awston of blue Sholth (Boo)

Lirone of orange Agrippith, Wingrider, Horizon Wing - Would like to be considered for candidatemaster or Weyrlingmaster of any WingLirone is a fairly mature resident of the Weyr and has now been at Dalibor for close to three turns. She has a temperamental dragon to be sure but keeps Agrippith under relative control. Normally she would not necessarily vie for any leadership position she has begun to feel more confident in her new home and following the various disasters at Dalibor has felt the need to offer her assistance in a more active manner. She is empathic yet does know how to deal with the odd troublesome candidate. In terms of what I think she would deal with most it would probably be a few lessons in harness maintenance or maintenance of equipment as she was a journeyman fisher and knows the importance of keeping equipment in top-notch conditions. Otherwise, she would probably deal with new candidates, showing them to quarters and assisting their adjustment to Weyr life. As a wingsecond she would assist her Wingleader in any way she could and complete paperwork to an outstanding quality. Additionally, she would scout out possible wingriders and weyrlings for their addition to the wing. Z'is of blue Hephaeth, Mayday Wing, would like to be considered for the role of Candidatemaster or Wingsecond of any WingZ'is may not be the most confident of people but he abides by the rules. He would not hesitate to prevent people from doing the wrong thing. More importantly, he knows a lot about Weyrlife, having spent a lot of time in the Weyr growing up. Hephaeth is not atypical in terms of dragons and this has assisted Z'is in maturing. His dragon has some difficulty with flying and through this Z'is would be able to pass on advice to candidates about what they can expect from Impression. Over the turns, Z'is has become a hardened man in light of the various disasters in Dalibor and this has certainly made him more calm but also more understanding of other people's emotions. He's calm and level headed but also reasonably quiet so would probably be most suited to work behind the scenes in planning lessons or even Searching candidates. As a Wingsecond he would certainly do what was asked of him and check up on the Wingriders as much as he could. Awston of blue Sholth, Dusk Wing - would like to be considered for the position of Wingsecond of any WingAlthough still rather young, Sholth and Awston make a somewhat formidable pair. They are fairly intelligent and decent at planning maneuvers due to this intellect. Despite the general tone of Sholth, he does work hard when it comes to things such as this and would no doubt work harder if he had the push to do so. Awston is proper and committed therefore she would not hesitate to carry out the orders of her Wingleader. Umm ooc: I'm not asking for all three of these to get a position but just offering them up as an option and Kire wants to apply for betahandler

Ro'ark of Brown Verensith; Wingrider, Dawn Wing, would like to be considered for the position of Weyrlingmaster
Reason: At 46 turns of age, Ro'ark has officially spent half of his life filling the role of Weyrlingmaster at Telgar prior to his transfer. That portion of his history will be utilized as the reasons for why he might be considered for promotion at Dalibor.
The promotion the pair anticipated came in Ro'ark’s twenty-third turn, but instead of meeting their Wingleader, they met the Weyrleader. The position they were offered was that of Weyrlingmaster, and Ro'ark was as ecstatic as he could express. Teaching had become a passion for him over the turns; it was both an outlet for his obsessive tendencies, and a way to project his perfectionism in a way that served the Weyr and not himself. The dragonpair accepted their promotion and joined the other Weyrlingmasters in an assistant capacity while they learned what their role would require: Even going through the program twice hadn’t prepared them for the challenging work caring for the newly Impressed.
They rose gamely. The turns passed quickly. At twenty-four after a full turn of Weyrlings had passed through their care, Ro'ark and Verensith were promoted to full Weyrlingmaster rank, though they still worked alongside a Weyrlingmaster twenty-six turns their seniors. At twenty-five the pair was given their first class: It was a small group from a small clutching, but it was theirs. Their performance for that turn, the first on their own, was exemplary: The Weyr had found a place for them that suited not only their strengths, but continued to develop their faults.
Among the Weyrlings, and those who graduated, Ro'ark and Verensith acquired quite the reputation: The man was a hard teacher to please, he expected excellence and a willingness to work. The dragon, they said, was as feral as the Southern felines and twice as likely to swat you if you shirked your duties or caused trouble. There was no bullying allowed, but the pair cultivated a competitive atmosphere that demanded perfection from those under their tutelage, and though Ro'ark lacked the intimacy that might have cultivated close relationships with his students, his distance allowed their independence and confidence to flourish.
They remained at their post as Weyrlingmasters for twenty-three turns. There were losses, Ro'ark learned early that, much like mauling on the Sands, losses were inevitable, but after nearly twenty-five turns there had been no losses due to neglect or carelessness. Then Thread came. Weyrling Wings were kept as safe as possible during Threadfall, but nervousness breeds carelessness in the way that confidence breeds neglect. The first losses were hard on the pair, they questioned how things could have been done differently to eliminate loss of life: After that first Fall they never stopped asking those important questions.
Death was part of the oath they had all taken, however, and though there were losses among Wingriders he knew, there was still the distinct lack of an intimate bond that would render him capable of feeling sorrow. They had died bravely at their post, dutifully: To the pair, there could be no more honorable a passing.

Lachan, Handler of Bronze Lachask, Prideleader of Charlie Pride would like to be considered for the position of WherlingmasterReasons: IC Lachan is incredibly responsible and takes his duties very seriously. He would also take the effort to know every one of his charges and how they are coping with their bondeds and would generally have an open door policy. He's one of those people who go the extra mile and I think it would be interesting to play a guy who is keen on imbuing his students with a similar sense of duty if they aren't necessarily responsive to it. Or even if they are. He's also a really calm and steady personality - he doesn't get angry often. I just think Lachan would be a really good 'mentoral care' type rolemodel or whatever particularly when they are adjusting to the new bond thing. Lachask would also be super happy to have wherlings he can impress. OOC: I don't want to step on anyone's toes - if you have all you need then that's cool. I also think it might be fun to play him as having his patience tested a little if the need arises. I also love playing these two and I am more than happy to play with anyone who wants or needs plots with their wherlings. Basically I want to use him more and this gives me more opportunity. As I said, if it's a no I don't mind - I just thought I might offer him up.

C'at of brown Deretsoth, Wingrider, Mayday Wing, would like to be considered for the position of Wingsecond for any Wing.Actually, that is a lie. He would not like to be considered for anything and the anxieties that would be produced from such a role would be intense. BUT! He would be a good leader with the proper guidance and with the encouragement from Deretsoth who is used to being a doormat. He needs to learn to be firm in his choices and becoming a Wingsecond could definitely give him the confidence to complete this and move forward. With the proper training the two of them could definitely become a strong leader pair even if they would remain unsure of themselves for quite some time. C'ian of purple Shirath, Wingrider, Dawn Wing, would like to be considered for the role of Wingsecond of any wing or Weyrlingmaster.C'ian is a bundle of excitement and happiness and who doesn't need that in their lives? Although, on occasion, he has gotten into trouble with authority, he has become a much stronger person and although he may joke around with things he at least takes Thread seriously. He has spent his whole life at a Weyr and knows the workings of the Wings and the lessons well enough that he could be a valuable addition to the Weyrlingmaster team. As for Wingsecond, he tries very hard and is on a decently good relationship with the Weyrleader/Wingleader. Yalenia of green Yalesk, Priderunner, Bravo Pride would like to be considered for the role of Pridesecond of any prideYalenia works hard and has additionally worked hard at her relationship with her wher. Although Yalesk is still like Ausk in some ways with her rage they have a much better working relationship. Together they are stronger and Yalenia would do all she could to protect the Weyr. She knows a lot about the inner functioning of the Weyr having been a candidate for quite some time and she is also very determined indeed.

A'mor of Gray Noyth, Wingrider, Horizon Wing - Would like to be considered for the position of Candidatemaster or Weyrlingmaster. This is actually not completely true. If given the role, he will take it up with every intention of letting no one fail. Especially if he become Weyrlingmaster. Given his history, he knows a thing or two about being a Weyrlingmaster. Candidatemaster shouldn't be to much of a jump. Z'eri of Purple Arifoth, Wingrider, Dusk Wing - Would like to be considered for the position of Wingsecond of any Wing. Reasons: Z'eri would be totally cool with this. Responsibility is his thing. He would actually enjoy this. Arifoth could bring a little fun to the table. The perfect balance! (Arifoth can even focus on stuff other than fun too sometimes.)

W'lin would like to be considered for Wing Second-at any point. -He would also like to request a wing change, due to his dislike of Q'sis. He has been on his very best not to show outward hostility towards the man, but he still believes (though now that memory of the event has been exaggerated), that Q'sis had been planning to drown him when they were candidates together. Reason -W'lin is willing and wanting to work hard to protect the weyr. He still has personal issues to sort out, but he's slowly starting to work on those as well. After his accident with thread last season, he is very much wanting to show he has improved. Ooc: And T'ris would like to be considered for Wingleader... (j/k)

Ziphera of pink Gizath, Wingrider, Dusk Wing - Would like to be considered for the position of Candidatemaster.Ziphera has a fair amount of experience as a Candidatemaster, since although she was never one officially, she frequently volunteered to assist the Candidatemasters at Fort and ran substitute lessons when one of them was sick or busy. She is a passionate teacher who enjoys adding a bit of flair to her lessons, and also feels that it is important to nurture the ‘creative side’ of her students, which is reflected in some of her slightly eccentric lessons. Some of these may or may not involve acting, art, and songwriting. She is calm, poised, and an attentive listener while dealing with her students, though if any of them manage to really rile her up she is happy to come up with creative punishments. Gizath would love to help Ziphera keep an eye on all the candidates, as she enjoys being in the know and keeping tabs on people anyhow, and she would happily see all of the candidates as her honorary grandchildren.

F'dren of blue Mifth, Dusk Wing, would like to be considered for the position of WeyrlingmasterF'dren is steady and rock-solid. his dragon might be a bouncy ball of ridiculous, but the rider himself is as even-keeled as they come, which could be a good balance to the chaos of Hatchings and Weyrlinghood. A rider for over 13 turns, he's familiar with just about all of it, and as a bluerider, he's not particularly essential to any other role that would take precedence to caring for kiddos. He isn't the most sympathetic of people, but sometimes a class really needs discipline over buddy-buddiness anyway, and in any case Mifth is sympathetic and friendly enough for the both of them. Going to the other extreme, he isn't a hardass either. Just very blandly in the middle of the road. He may snap at a weyrling if they come asking a question before he's had his klah, but he would do his duty by them, and without becoming so attached it blinds his ability to be realistic about their futures. would he be the most exciting of Weyrlingmasters? No. But Weyrlings have enough excitement as it is, right? Also Mifth loves babies. Also also, F'dren's old. At least compared to most of the kiddos around him.

Sian of blue Shalith, Heritage Wing, would like to be considered for the position of weyrlingmaster or wingsecond (Heritage only)At the moment, Sian is a horrifically flawed young lady who is probably not suited for any positions, but as she grows older and mellows out (some), she would make for an excellent leader. Shalith is a smart, confident, commanding dragon with an excellent grasp of the rules; Sian strives to achieve perfection to make up for the terrible mistakes of her past. She has a strong need to prove herself, and as a result she has specifically studied and trained for potential leadership. Z'an has been a mentor to her; as wingsecond she would only want to serve under him, if a position ever becomes available.
