Name: Inolnar
Gender: Male
Age: 17 turns
Sexuality: Bisexual
Location: Crescent Hold
Rank: Dragon Candidate
Personality: Quiet, Inolnar doesn’t talk much in general. He hardly makes noises, though he has learned to laugh out loud as people seem to find silent laughing a tad bit creepy. Indeed he is a happy boy as well, finding joy and love in everything he does, he always finds the glass half full. Nothing could take his rainbow from the sky, not even the clouds that come in and pour on his water-proof parade. In fact, he rather likes the rain and has been known to just sit out in it and allow the water to drip down his face and soak through his clothes, though this often gets him in trouble with his mother he hardly has to visit the healer and never because of the rain.
Inolnar is not at all shy, quite willing to just walk up to a group of people and smile at them, speaking when they require him to. He likes being a part of a group, preferring to be around people of any shape or size. He likes to hear their voices, to listen to their thoughts, to laugh at their jokes and pat their backs. Inol is comforting and kind, always happy to be a helping hand. He likes to work and make something out of nothing, likes to have a job to call his own. A reason to his name. He likes crafts of all kinds, but always assumed that he would be a dolphineer like his family, and dolphins are very happy conversation.
Inol does his best to fit in anywhere he goes, tries to make new friends and greet new people. He wants to know a lot of people and wants to befriend anyone who will let him. He doesn’t like rude people, but he will still be their friends, believing that everyone has some good in them. He’s also a bit passionate whenever someone allows him to be, loving and tender, he likes to hold and to cuddle, and he doesn’t mind doing so with massive amounts of people. The only thing that he doesn’t like is people being angry with him, and he will do whatever he can to make them forgive him.
Appearance: Inolnar is very boyish in his looks, tall and stocky, he doesn’t appear to be in the best of shape for someone his age. However, with a closer look it’s easy to see that his stockiness is sheer muscle. A life of swimming has toned his body more than much else on Pern could, arms and legs especially, but swimming like a dolphin easily tones your stomach and abs just as well. His skin is only lightly tanned, freckled all over with brown spots. This carries on the childish look he holds to him, though he does look like a rather large child.
His hair is a mass of silky black locks that are easily long enough to fall in his face or blow in the wind about his head. Always clean, the hair seems to bounce on his head with any sudden movements, quite content to emphasize every twitch he makes. Tragically the locks are straight and only wave in the wind, no ounce of body to them. His eyebrows are likewise black and bushy arcs above his eyes, his lashes thick and long crescents from his eyelids. Under those lashes are pretty chocolate brown eyes that can easily beg for love and compassion.
He reaches a full six feet three inches in height, tall but not quite abnormally so, weighing a solid two hundred thirty pounds. He appears to be a force to be reckoned with, even beyond his character. Essentially, even though he looks fierce, he is quite the pacifist and is seen smiling far more often than not.
Family:
Father: Nolar, Healer
Mother: Surra, Dolphineer
Sister: Nolla, Dolphineer (older)
Brother-in-law: Pardol, Dolphineer
Sister: Ina, Apprentice Healer (older)
Pets: None
History: Born the third and final child of Nolar and Surra, Inolnar had an easy life ahead of him. At long last, they had the boychild they had wanted, though they had no qualms with their daughters before him. Births were hard for Surra, even with the help of water and dolphins, she was happy to finally have the goal they had desired, at least one boychild and one girlchild, though they had expected the boy first. Inol had never been as fussy as his sisters were as babies, smiling at everything, laughing without making a sound. He enjoyed life to the fullest, even as a babe. The only doubts his parents held was with his silence. He did not cry, did not coo, he didn’t make any noise whatsoever. They thought him to be mute.
Time would tell that he was not, only that he was very quiet. Inolnar was quite capable of speech when he desired to speak, he just preferred to be quiet when he didn’t want to speak. Of course, one did not need a voice to speak to dolphins really, just a body to swim with and a smile. Talking underwater is difficult. Even though he seemed to be a fish for his first ten turns, he wanted more so to feel the wind on his face and fly through the skies. A dragon could help him do that, though that was an afterthought. He never did voice this desire to his parents, but he didn’t voice many things so it went easily unnoticed.
Another reason for him to turn to dragons arose when he reached his thirteenth turn and realized that he was just as attracted to the boys as he was to the girls. Again, this was not something he decided to voice. Even watching his sister marry the dolphineer of her dreams, all he could think about was how lucky she was to find someone like Pardol. Of course he had to remove Pardol from his mind, as he now belonged to his sister. But there was no lack of attractive people in Tillek, even after people started leaving for the Western Continent.
Only a little less than one turn prior to the present, the talk broke out of the Dolphinhall being built on the Western Continent. With a family so deep in seawater, there was no question of their moving to help. They were packed and ready within two days, and already sailing over to help with the hall. Crescent Hold was everything that they hoped it to be. Even now they are working to try to complete the Hold and establish it fully.
